Psychodrama And The Art Of Self Nourishment

The workshop will be a creative exploration of personal nourishment and self care. In the morning, Sally Swain will gently facilitate participants to explore the theme of self nourishment using writing and/or art. In the afternoon, Katherine will direct psychodramatic enactments which reflect and build on the work of the morning.

No art or drama experience needed- at all- truly!!

Sally Swain (artist, author, creativity coach) is delighted to co-lead this workshop with Kath for the AANZPA mob. For nearly 20 years, Sally has been facilitating creativity through her Art and Soul practice ( ). She has four years of psychodrama training under her colourful belt. She has been drawing (pardon the pun) on psychodramatic techniques in her work and life since 1997. Other training includes BA Hons Psych, Dip Ed Art, Hart Life Coaching, Creativity Coaching (USA), Sandplay Therapy, Creativity Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Drama Action. Sally has created four successful books and initiated a Playback Theatre troupe that is still alive after 15 years. Exploring self-nourishment and self-care through creative means is one of her passions. She is excited by the potential of using psychodrama to bring visual expressions to life.

Katherine Howard is a Psychodramatist, Counsellor & Psychotherapist and Consultant Occupational Therapist. Kath has worked with groups in various forms for many years (see profile on if you want to get more info!) and has a passion for supporting the nourishment of professional folk in their work and lives. Kath is currently the President of the Australia Aetearoa New Zealand Psychodrama Association (AANZPA) in NSW.
